Suggested Plays For NFL Week 6:

QB- Russell Wilson- This guy is an absolute beast and he’s the main reason my year-long league is 5-0. He’s pure talent both running and throwing the ball. He just carved up the Redskins defense for 201 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, and 122 rushing yards with 1 rushing TD for 34.24 FP. Now he gets to face the Cowboy’s defense at home and he’s my main QB target this week in DFS on Fanduel and Victiv.

QB- Peyton Manning- Yes, he’s the most expensive option this week, but it’s for good reasons. He just threw for a career high 479 yards with 4 TDs and 32.96 FP. He’s breaking records left and right and draws a terrific matchup against the Jets at home this week. I’m looking for Manning to top the 300 yard mark with 3+ TDs again, but also he will be highly owned in a Broncos stack I’m sure.

QB- Jay Cutler- I really like Cutler this week as he gets to face a mediocre defense in the form of the Atlanta Falcons. It’s true that the Falcons are better at home, but that’s due in part to Matty Ice, not the defense. I’m looking for Cutler to go around 250 yards, 3 TDs and the W.

Other QBs I Like: Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Brian Hoyer (GPP Only), Philip Rivers

RB- Branden Oliver- Oliver absolutely killed it last week. After Brown left with a concussion, Oliver took over and could find himself as the starting RB this week. Last week against the Jets, Oliver had 19 rushes for 114 yards with with 1 TD, and 4 receptions for 68 yards and 1 TD for 32.2 FP. I’m looking for a similar performance against the Raiders defense, but beware of Oliver in HUGE GPP Tourneys because I think he will be owned over 75%.

RB- Matt Forte- Last week against the Panthers, Forte finally showed up. He had 17 rushes for 61 yards and 12 receptions for 105 yards and a TD for 26.6 FP. He gets a juicy matchup against the Falcon’s defense that can’t seem to stop anyone and Forte looks primed to repeat last week’s performance.

RB- Andre Williams- In my other article (Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups) I listed Williams as a viable year-long candidate. I also love his matchup against the Eagles this week. After Jennings left the game with an MCL sprain, Williams came in for 20 rushes, 65 yards, and 1 TD. He also tacked on 2 receptions for 18 yards and 15.3 FP. We can fit him in with some other value plays to afford some big named players like Peyton Manning this week.

Other RBs I Like: Andre Ellington, Lamar Miller, LeVeon Bell

WR- Julio Jones- Jones is the 2nd highest salaried WR for a reason. He hasn’t had less than 6 receptions all year and has only 3 games under 100 yards receiving and he has never had less than 82 yards receiving either. He’s coming off a game last week against the Giants where Jones had 11 receptions for 105 yards and 16 FP. He and Matty Ice tend to dominate at home and I believe that will be the case again this week.

WR- Wes Welker- I think everyone will be all over Demaryius Thomas and I think Welker will be under-owned, and that’s what it takes to cash in the bigger tourneys. He had 7 receptions for 58 yards last week because DT and JT both stole his thunder. I’m expecting Welker to have a stat line like 5/80/1 this week at home against the measly Jets.

Other WRs I Like: Golden Tate, Victor Cruz, Keenan Allen

TE- Antonio Gates- I think a lot of people will be on Gates this week but his matchup is just too good not to mention him. He’s still priced softly and last week he had 4 receptions for 60 yards, 2 TDs and 20 FP. I think he has an identical game against the horrible Raider’s defense this Sunday.

TE- Tim Wright- For a punt play at TE if you’re trying to save money, Wright could be the “right” man for the job. (See what I did there?). He had success last week and I believe they will try again with Wright in the passing action.

WR- Keenan Allen- He had a tremendous output in Week 4 followed by a dud last week with only 3 receptions for 25 yards and 4 FP. His price is soft enough and they get to face the Raiders who can’t stop anyone. I think people will still be on the Eddie Royal train and Allen will be under-owned and provide us with the salary relief to afford Wilson and Gates.

WR- Wes Welker- I think everyone will be all over Demaryius Thomas and I think Welker will be under-owned, and that’s what it takes to cash in the bigger tourneys. K- Matt Bryant- I chose Bryant because the Falcons will be at home in a dome and the weather will not be a factor. Also, Ryan tends to do better at home which should in turn give Bryant better opportunities to score.

DEF- Broncos- They will be facing the Jets at home. Denver is dangerous at home and we saw what happened to the Jets last week no matter who they throw out at QB. I’m looking for the Broncos to get anywhere between 15-20 FP and round out an amazing team.

So there it is! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I would love to explain something that doesn't make sense!

NFL Week 7 Injury Report

NFL Week 7 Injury Report

Fantasy Football is popular among millions of people around the world, and they wait each week to play. Along with the big names come big injuries. No matter how good your draft is, you’re bound to take injury blows to even the biggest of stars. Here is the breakdown of injured players headed into Week 7 of the NFL Season.

1. WR- Victor Cruz (Giants)

Cruz was carted off the field with a torn patellar tendon and will require season-ending surgery. This deals a blow to the most recognizable name on the Giants other than Eli Manning. The Giants fortunately have so many WR options, that they could still be alright moving forward this season.

Fantasy Sports Guru's Take: On the outside, this injury looks to be devastating as a whole. If we dig a little deeper, we see that Cruz only had 23 receptions for 337 yards and 1 TD. New York has enough talent to replace Cruz this season fortunately.

Fantasy Impact: Odell Beckham Jr. is slated to slide right into this role and see a ton of production increases. He should have similar value/targets as Cruz would have had and he's a safe bet to roster as a WR1 or WR2.

2. RB- Stevan Ridley (Patriots)

Ridley is officially done for the year with a torn ACL and MCL. He was the superior back in a crowded backfield, yet with this injury, it's still way too early to tell who will be the Patriots go-to RB moving forward.

Fantasy Sports Guru's Take: From Week 1 we have seen the up and down rollercoaster that is the Patriots RBBC. Ridley was looking to be the favorite until this injury. We will just have to wait and see moving forward.

Fantasy Impact: Brandon Bolden's value will rise, along with Vereen and possibly the unproven James White.

3. RB- Darren Sproles (Eagles)

Sproles avoided season-ending knee surgery, but he will miss a couple of weeks with an MCL sprain.

Fantasy Sports Guru's Take: This obviously deals a blow to Chip Kelly's offense as Sproles had found the fountain of youth. This luckily isn't a HUGE blow because they still have McCoy who finally broke out of his funk this past week against the Giants.

Fantasy Impact: LeSean McCoy is now the clear-cut guy but the problem is that Philadelphia doesn't have a healthy backup to him. Look for the Eagles to possibly sign an insurance policy RB this week.

4. Knowshon Moreno (Dolphins)

Moreno had missed the last two games with a dislocated elbow to come back this week and rush for only 10 yards on 6 carries. He will now miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL and should be back for camp next year.

Fantasy Sports Guru's Take: Obviously this deals a blow to their offense, but luckily the have another great RB in Lamar Miller and he should do just fine.

Fantasy Impact: Lamar Miller stepped up big in Moreno's absence the last couple of weeks and I expect him to continue to be very productive moving forward. He has a back-up in Daniel Thomas (don't expect much from him) and he's looking to get around 20-25 touches for the foreseeable future.

5. WR- A.J. Green (Bengals)

Green missed the Week 6 game against the Panthers because of his nagging toe injury. He most likely will miss this Sunday's contest against the Colts ( according to Green) but it will truly be a game-time decision as Marvin Lewis loves to say his players are good to go all the way up until game time.

Fantasy Sports Guru's Take: I see no reason to rush back too early only to re-aggravate an injury he has already re-aggravated once. The Bengals have done good without him and this week they ended in a 37-37 tie against the Panthers.

Fantasy Impact: With Both Breen and Marvin Jones out, Mohamed Sanu should keep dominating as the WR1 for the Bengals and they should do just fine.

1. D/ST- Cleveland Browns-

The Browns are coming off of a game where they held Big Ben and Co. to 10 measly points. They are facing the winless Jags this Sunday in Jacksonville and could very well produce yet another great defensive game for your team. I believe they will be the top defensive pick up this week and have a chance at helping secure a victory.

Week 6 Stats: 2 sacks, 1 INT

2. WR- Andre Holmes (Raiders)-

Playing on a winless team has its perks. You'll almost always be playing from behind so the QB will most likely be tossing the ball a ton. The Raiders, with an interim coach, actually almost pulled off a win and Holmes was a big factor in the offense. I think Holmes will be the most-targeted WR on the waiver wire this week.

Week 6 Stats: 4 receptions, 121 yards, 2 TDs

 3. RB- Antone Smith (Falcons)-

Smith isn’t a household name yet, but a couple more breakout plays and he might be a well-known name. Smith only had 2 rushing attempts for 5 yards but his value comes as a pass-catching back. Smith now has 5 TDs this season and they have been monster runs. He has TDs with the following yardages: 74, 54, 48, 41, 38 yards.

Week 6 Stats: 2 rushes, 5 yards, 4 catches, 41 yards, 1 TD.

4. WR- Brandon LaFell (Patriots)-

LaFell had a heck of a week 6. He might be Tom Brady’s go-to WR1 for the future. He’s less than 10% owned and will be scooped up this week. He has now had 2 big games out of 6, but the Patriots were struggling in every game that he has had a dud. Look for LaFell to continue his dominance against a Jet’s secondary this Thursday.

Week 6 Stats: 5 receptions, 103 yards, 1 TD

5. WR- Malcom Floyd (Chargers)-

Philip Rivers has the same dilemma as Peyton Manning regarding WR options. In San Diego, there’s Eddie Royal, Keenan Allen, and now Malcom Floyd. Floyd has really only 1 bad game so far this season and that was against Seattle’s defense. Floyd now has 3 TDs on the year to go along with 362 receiving yards. Look for him to beat the Chiefs secondary this coming Sunday.

Week 6 Stats: 5 receptions, 103 yards, 1 TD

 6. RB- Brandon Bolden (Patriots)-

Ridley is most likely out for the season and Bolden could step up into a role and see more touches than Vereen who has been a pretty big disappointment so far. Bolden is also on special teams, so if your year-long leagues give points for returns, Bolden could be a dual-threat. His stats are skewed with the lack of playing time until the injury to Ridley.

Week 6 Stats: 6 rushes, 10 yards

The Jets should Sign Tim Tebow NOW!

Tim Tebow is a better QB option than both Geno and Vick

5 Weeks of NFL games are almost in the books and we have learned some things. We have learned that Peyton Manning will still be breaking records (career high in passing yesterday) and that the Jets don’t have a good QB. When I say the QB isn’t good, I mean both Geno Smith and Michael Vick can’t get the job done as starters, and Rex Ryan could be out of a job soon if they don’t turn it around.

This brings me to my point. Why not re-sign Tim Tebow? Tebow still has it and why wouldn’t you give him a shot? For God’s sake, Kyle Orton is starting for the Bills and Tebow is better than he is.

Yes I understand the media-circus that will surround him signing with the Jets again, but after the controversial signing of Vick, Rex Ryan’s weight loss and “sexual fetish” that came out and now the lack of play from the Jet’s QBs, now is the time to bring in a fresh face.

Tebow has publicly stated that he has not retired and is willing to sign with a team that wants him. The public outcry in New Jersey shows that they want a QB who can play, and when given the chance, Tebow can both throw and run the ball.

If the Jets don’t do something soon, Rex Ryan could be out of a job and looking for work. I believe the Jets are the best fit with Tebow because he already knows the schemes as he has been with the coaches and staying in football shape.

What do you guys think? Why not give a proven starter (regardless in your eyes) and a team player a shot on a team that 1 QB cusses at it’s own fans and the other  is getting old and clearly couldn’t cut it yesterday.

Sound off below with what you guys think!

  1. RB- Branden Oliver (Chargers)- I’m expecting Oliver to be the #1 Waiver Wire Pickup this week. Donald Brown went down with a concussion and Oliver did nothing but dominate in his absence. I can easily see Oliver taking the reigns and controlling the starting RB spot for the  foreseeable future. He can both explosively run the ball, or catch it as we saw him nearly eclipse 200 total yards this week.

Week 5 Stats: 19 rushes, 114 yards, 4 passes, 68 yards, 2 TDs

  1. RB- Ronnie Hillman (Broncos)- I believe Ball will be out for multiple weeks with a groin injury and Hillman will be the starter. He’s not the same type of power back that Ball is, but he’s a great pass-catcher and can compliment the run well.

Week 5 Stats: 15 rushes, 64 yards

  1. RB- Andre Williams (Giants)- Jennings left yesterday’s contest early on and Williams came in and did his job well. If Jennings is out, Williams makes a very viable Daily Fantasy option as well as year-long leagues.

Week 5 Stats: 20 rushes, 65 yards, 1 TD

  1. RB- Benny Cunningham (Rams)- Cunningham was already taking touches away from Stacy, but as he left with a calf injury, which could sideline him for multiple weeks, Cunningham should get his touches. He is a great blocker as well which bodes well for his value down the line.

Week 5 Stats: 7 rushes, 47 yards, 1 TD, 3 Catches, 24 yards

  1. WR- Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants)- With Eli and the Giants finally heating up, expect Beckham to get his targets every week. He’s definitely worth picking up for a WR3 or Flex in year-long leagues if you’re looking on the Wire this week.

Week 5 Stats: 4 Receptions, 44 yards, 1 TD

  1. TE- Tim Wright (Patriots)- If you’re looking for a viable TE option with upside, Wright is your man. He was only on the field for 19 of the 84 snaps last night, but he made up for it. He could also be a great punt option for those Daily Fantasy players.

Week 5 Stats: 5 receptions, 85 yards, 1 TD

  1. Calvin Johnson- CJ took a hit to his bad foot and limped off the field and never returned to the game in the Lion’s 17-14 loss to the Kyle Orton-led Bills. He wasn’t 100% healthy headed into the game and now is very doubtful for Week 6.

Fantasy Sports Guru’s Take: I was surprised to see Johnson out there considering he never looked 100% all week in practice. With him re-aggravating his injury, I highly doubt he plays Sunday against the Vikings. I could even see him missing multiple weeks to get back to 100% healthy.

Fantasy Impact: This definitely boosts Golden Tate’s stock and he should be used in a similar situation as Calvin Johnson would be used moving forward.

  1. Montee Ball- Ball left Sunday’s contest with a groin pull and never returned. He’s headed for a MRI today but sources say he could be out for the foreseeable future.

Fantasy Sports Guru’s Take: I’m expecting Ball to be out about 4-6 weeks and could even lose his starting job when he gets back. He was already struggling on the year with 55 rushes and 172 yards with only 1 TD as it was.

Fantasy Impact: Ronnie Hillman stepped up and should be the main back while Ball is out. This will now be his team when Manning isn’t out there breaking records.

  1. Rashad Jennings- Jennings left the game after taking a hit to his left knee and will undergo an MRI today. Jennings told reporters that he expects to be cleared to play this week but will have to wait on the results of the MRI.

Fantasy Sports Guru’s Take: Jennings has a history of injuries and this is just another notch on that belt. I can easily see his workload cut to save his body going forward.

Fantasy Impact: Regardless of the MRI results, I see Andre Williams seeing quite a few touches moving forward. He’s a must-add in year-long fantasy leagues.

  1. Donald Brown- Brown left Sunday’s game with a concussion. He just hasn’t lived up to his hype after both Mathews went down and the Chargers lost Woodhead for the season. He should be good to go for week 6 but only time will tell.

Fantasy Sport Guru’s Take: Brown lacked the breakout speed and juice that people expected out of him these past two weeks. I expect his workload to be greatly reduced moving forward, regardless of how practice goes this week.

Fantasy Impact: Branden Oliver came in and completely dominated. He’s a must-own and will most likely be the #1 Waiver Wire pickup.

  1. Zac Stacy- Stacy left Sunday’s game against the Eagles with a left calf injury. He was immediately ruled out and this could be a multi-week injury.

Fantasy Sport Guru’s Take: I don’t expect to see Stacy out there for the next couple of weeks, based on how fast he was ruled out and how these types of injuries have played out in the past.

Fantasy Impact: Benny Cunningham was already taking touches away from Stacy and he will most likely be the featured RB for the next few games. If you’re desperate at RB, Cunningham makes a great pickup on a team that’s in a QB conundrum.

Daily Fantasy Sports: Head to Head Explanation

Winning you $1,000s a week on Fanduel.com!

Hello, and welcome to Fantasy Sports Guru’s introductory course of Daily Fantasy Sports or how most players call it, DFS. This series of articles will be focused on different aspects of Daily Fantasy Sports as opposed to the normal year-long leagues everyone is used to. If you have been following along with my NFL advice lately, congratulations on being part of the winning team! For the purpose of this series, I’ll be using Fanduel as the preferred site of choice so let’s get started.

Head-to-Head Game Type

This is the most basic type of gameplay. This is the traditional type that most people are accustomed to in the year-long leagues. It’s exactly what it sounds like. You are pitted against only 1 opponent and duke it out. In the traditional sense, the player with the highest score wins and it’s the exact same with Daily Fantasy Sports. If you’re new to DFS this is the type of gameplay I would highly suggest until you know what you’re doing. For example: You choose a $1 Head-to-Head (H2H) matchup and you win, you will actually win $1.80 and Fanduel will take the $.20 rake. That’s how they stay in business and that’s how you have a site to play on. I’ll break it down in a chart below.

H2H: How it works: Payment Breakdown

As you can see, you can be very profitable if you know what you’re doing. I highly suggest trying out the lower ones at first and if you’re feeling BOLD you can casually make your way up the ladder to be one of the best!

What’s an effective way to win at H2Hs?

I’ve been asked this question a ton over the past few months. What you’re trying to do is beat only 1 opponent. In this sense it’s “50/50” when in reality it’s calculated research and lineups. In H2H you want to evolve a well-rounded team that has the potential to score high but also is a “safe” team. Safe meaning they aren’t a risk to possibly do bad, they have a great matchup, history, health, everything that you might not think about. You’ll formulate your team just like you would year-long leagues, and expect the “stud” player to play like you know they can.

Picking your opponents in the lobby:

You do have the ability to create your own games but I would caution you not to do this on Fanduel. The reasoning behind this logic? Fanduel does not have a “match-up blocker” and thus, you could create 50 x $1 H2Hs and it could be the same guy taking every single one of them. It would most likely deter you from every playing DFS again if he beat you wouldn’t it? Until they institute some sort of blocker, I highly suggest going into the lobby and hand choosing your opponents. This would definitely be the way to go if you were just starting out in the game.

Suggested Plays For NFL Week 5:

QB- Ben Roethlisberger- He’s coming off another 300+ yard 3 TD performance but ended up losing on a last second Tampa Bay TD. Ben is a mid-priced QB this week but has a tremendous match-up against a horrendous Jacksonville squad. If you pair him with Antonio Brown, you’ll be well on your way to the money.

QB- Drew Brees- Some people are saying that Brees is coming off a bad game that the Saints should have won against the supposed awful Dallas defense. It’s true that the Saints lose 38-17, but Brees still had a heck of a game. He completed 32 of 44 passes for 340 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. After being embarrassed in Dallas and being 1-3 to start the season, I’m looking for REDEMPTION this weekend. Brees is at home where he flourishes and I’m predicting a 350+ yard day with 3 TDs and a Top-5 QB performance in Week 5.

Other QBs I Like: Philip Rivers, Eli Manning, Blake Bortles (GPP), Peyton Manning

RB- DeMarco Murray- As long as he keeps producing, why wouldn’t he be in contention each week? He’s coming off his 4th straight game with 100+ yards. He’s already got 5 TDs on the year and is facing a Houston team that allows the run quite a bit. Until he starts to slow down, I’ll probably have to suggest him each and every week.

RB- Giovani Bernard- He’s coming out of the BYE week and should be well rested against a tired Patriots defense who were just run over by Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs. He’s both a RB and passing threat. He has 3 TDs on the season and looks to continue this trend against an all-around bad team.

Other RB I Like: LeVeon Bell, Marshawn Lynch

WR- Kelvin Benjamin- In what has been considered one of the surprise wideouts early on, Benjamin has shined on a somewhat dim Carolina offense. In 4 weeks, Benjamin has 21 receptions on 36 targets for 329 yards and 3 TDs. He’s going up against a Bear’s defense that was scorched for 302 yards and 4 TDs last week against Aaron Rodgers. I’m looking for Benjamin to be a Top-5 WR in Week 5.

WR- Keenan Allen- You’re probably thinking I’m crazy, but after the last couple of weeks, I am guessing people will be all over Eddie Royal and down on Allen, which  is how you win money in Daily Fantasy Sports. I’m going to predict Allen’s 1st TD and a monster game against the bad Jet’s secondary.

Other WR I Like: Allen Robinson, Brian Quick, Antonio Brown

TE- Julius Thomas- I don’t think many people will be on OJ this week against an Arizona defense, but I think the Cards will be double covering Demaryius Thomas and Welker and should leave JT open to try to repeat his week 1 performance of 104 yards and 3 TDs. Look for JT to be a Top-5 TE this week.

TE- Martellus Bennett- He’s coming off a game against GB that saw MB go 9/134/0. I think he will do great against a soft Carolina secondary and he will hit pay dirt at least once this week. Looking for another 75+ yard game from Bennett.

Other TE I Like: Jimmy Graham, Larry Donnell, Owen Daniels
